We've fallen through the Dance Moms YouTube rabbit hole & we can't get out.

This week, we had a little blast from Dance Moms past and had Josephine react to Lily K!

Josephine didn't know any of this of course. She had a lot of fun watching adorable 11 year old Lily portray expectations vs. reality of a first dance class. And while this fun skit included pointe shoes in a first ballet class, we all know that doesn't happen in real life.

This week, we revisited a highly requested series - Dance Moms! The first time Josephine reacted to this hit TV series, loads of comments requested her reaction to Chloe and Maddie - so here we are. It's 2022 and we're trying to give the people what they want. This is for you. The internet has spoken. So be sure to watch!    

This week, we had Josephine react to Dance Memes - sorta like Tik Tok, but older LOL.  Fun fact: Josephine started making dance memes almost 10 years ago, when she first started ThePointeShop! Since then,@thepointeshop Instagram has always had a few ballet memes because we love to laugh. How long have you been on the ballet internet? This week, we had Josephine watch the 2010 Australian TV series, "Dance Academy."  If you're in the states, you likely found this series on YouTube, in the ballet corner of the internet where we live. Josephine watched snippets of Season 1, Episode 2 "Week Zero," which follows main character, country girl Tara during her first week at the prestigious academy. There's lots of drama of course, between a boy being bullied for being put en pointe, Tara disobeying her ballet teacher, and even, a pointe shoe fight! How will Josephine react? You gotta watch to find out!

To kick off the new year, Josephine shows how to sew the ribbons and elastics on your pointe shoes! This is a long, overdue video but hope it can help any dancers who just earned their ballet boots. There are many ways to sew pointe shoes, but Josephine shares the very common whip stitch method with a single loop elastic & stretch ribbon. This video also includes some answers to some frequently asked questions about that super special, first pair of pointe shoes.  Getting your first pair of pointe shoes is a special milestone.
