Virtual Fitting Information

What to Expect

We’ll connect virtually to assess your foot shape, muscle structure, and technique—just like an in-person fitting. All you’ll need is a mobile camera, since we’ll have you move around a bit so we can see how your feet work in motion.

Before Your Appointment

We may send you a short list of photos and measurements to take ahead of time, depending on how many virtual fittings are scheduled that day. Don’t worry—we’ll guide you step-by-step through everything once we connect.

During Your Fitting

We’ll talk through your foot type, demonstrate how to measure for sizing, and discuss which shoes best support your technique and goals. You’ll be able to ask questions, compare options, and get personalized recommendations from our expert fitters.

After Your Fitting

We’ll send you an invoice, ship your shoes, and reconnect for a follow-up session once they arrive. If they’re not the perfect fit, we’ll be able to tell from your follow-up and help you exchange them easily for the right size.

Consultation Fee

There is a $40 consultation fee per dancer if you choose not to purchase pointe shoes from us. Many of our international and out-of-state dancers select this option and buy locally to save on international shipping costs.

Ready to Begin?

You’re welcome to book your virtual fitting above—we can’t wait to meet you! If you have any questions, please email info@thepointeshop.com — our team is always happy to help.

How to Prepare for Your Virtual Fitting

  1. Book your appointment
Once you’ve booked, keep an eye out for your confirmation email—it’ll have all the details you need before your session.
  2. Gather your shoes and accessories
Have your current pointe shoes, toe pads, and any accessories you use nearby. If you have older pairs or shoes you’ve had concerns about, bring those too—we can take a look together! We may ask you to take a few quick measurements, so keep paper, a pencil, and a measuring tape handy.
  3. Set up your device
We recommend using your phone for easy movement and setting it up at floor level so we can clearly see your feet. Choose a space where you can move the camera easily, and try to avoid bright light or windows behind you—we want to see your feet, not your silhouette! Please have everything ready to go at your appointment time.
  4. If you purchased shoes during your fitting
You’ll receive an order confirmation right after your session. Once your shipping confirmation arrives, go ahead and schedule your follow-up fitting so we can check the fit together.
  5. For your follow-up fitting
Have your new shoes ready, but don’t sew the ribbons or elastics yet—we’ll check the fit first to make sure they’re just right!

A Note About Virtual Fittings

Our goal is always to make every dancer feel supported, confident, and well-fitted—even from afar. Virtual fittings are a wonderful starting point, but sometimes additional adjustments or in-person follow-ups may be needed to find your perfect pair. We’ll be with you every step of the way to make sure you get the best fit possible.

  • While we strive for accuracy, please note that results can vary depending on measurements, lighting, camera angles, and each dancer’s unique technique. In some cases, an exchange or in-person fitting may be needed to fine-tune the fit. Please account for the possibility of an exchange when booking your appointment and note, the time it may take for an exchange if necessary.
  • A $40 fitting fee is applied toward the purchase of pointe shoes within 14 days your virtual fitting. This credit cannot be carried over to future fittings or purchases.
  • Shipping costs to and from ThePointeShop are the responsibility of the customer.
  • All returns and exchanges follow ThePointeShop’s standard return and exchange policy. Exchanges are accepted within 30 days of receipt, provided the shoes are brand new, unsewn, and unworn.
  • With your consent, your fitter may take photographs or short video clips during your session for educational and training purposes.
  • ThePointeShop is not responsible for any data or information lost due to technical difficulties or connection issues during your appointment.
