At ThePointeShop, our fitting experience goes beyond just finding the right pointe shoe size. We take time to assess a dancer's foot shape, structure, strength, and technique to pinpoint strengths, weaknesses, and areas of growth.
By understanding these key elements, we can tailor our fittings to not only provide comfort and support but also assist dancers in setting and achieving their unique goals en pointe. Our personalized approach aims to prevent injury and help dancers grow and excel.

We are open by appointment only — we do not have traditional store hours. If you have an appointment booked, a fitter will be in the showroom for you.

Important Fitting Information
Before Scheduling Your Appointment
- Please avoid scheduling a fitting while the dancer is injured.
- Avoid scheduling a fitting too close to long-distance travel, as travel-related swelling can affect sizing.
- First pair fittings: Please schedule your appointment no more than 2 weeks before the shoes will be used in class. Feet can change quickly!
Preparing for Your Fitting
- Please wear convertible ballet tights and arrive with clean feet and clipped toenails. Long toenails can cause discomfort in pointe shoes and may lead to splitting or cracking.
- If this is not your first pair, please bring your current or previous pointe shoes and the padding you normally wear.
- We do not lend toe pads. New toe pads are available for purchase, but if you do not wish to purchase a new pair, please remember to bring your own.
Fitting Fee
- There is a $40 fitting fee, which will be waived with the purchase of pointe shoes.
Shoe Availability
- Due to ongoing global supply chain issues (yes... still...), we cannot guarantee immediate availability of every shoe.
- We’ll do our best to troubleshoot and find the right fit for you. If your preferred shoe is backordered, we may recommend padding adjustments or alternative options to help keep you dancing until your shoes arrive.
Exchanges & Store Credit
- We offer an exchange or store credit within 30 days of purchase. Please keep this timeframe in mind when scheduling your fitting.
Rescheduling Your Appointment
- If you need to reschedule after booking, please use the rescheduling link at the bottom of your confirmation email.
Comprehensive Pointe Shoe Fittings
Designed for dancers who need a little more time, support, and strategy.
Comprehensive pointe shoe fittings are for dancers who are recovering from an injury, referred to us by a physical therapist, referred to us as a special case by a teacher, or for dancers who wish to reserve a longer fitting appointment.
This extended appointment allows time for a more in-depth analysis, further consultation about how to make your shoes last longer, tips and tricks to keep moving forward on your strength journey, and strategizing for the future beyond the purchase of just one pair of pointe shoes.
The $30 booking fee is a nonrefundable fee for this additional service.
A $40 fitting fee will be deducted from your purchase if you choose to purchase shoes at the fitting.
