This week, Josephine got to watch a beautifully produced video by the Australian Ballet!  "En Pointe Obstacle Course" was specially crafted with soloist Nicola Curry & dancers of the company. What at first appears to be a challenge video actually turns out to be beautifully choreographed piece that interact with customized set pieces in a warehouse.  Curry was a dancer with American Ballet Theater for 10 years before joining Australian Ballet for 7 years. Josephine reacts to Alex Hall! For those who are not familiar, Alex Hall is a YouTuber who used to be a professional ballerina! This week Josephine reacted to Alex's video of her returning pointe work after 1 year off. Watch the video to see Josephine's full reacting!  

  This week, Josephine reacts to a video of the Great Chinese State Circus from 2008. Although the quality of the video is old, the talent is timeless.  The performance starts off pretty normal, with an excerpt from Swan Lake. The corps de ballet - or corps de circus in this case - is beautiful, with some pretty awesome feathered tutus.  And then the acrobatics begin.  All we can say is that we're impressed. Josephine is VERY impressed. You'll have to watch the video to see why ;)   

Ever in a rush from ballet to tap class that you just don't have the time to switch shoes?  Well, Josephine has discovered a solution for you! Toe tapping! In this week's video, Josephine reacts to an old movie that features a vaudevillian dance break featuring a woman and man tap dancing en pointe. The dancers appear to be wearing pointe shoes that have little taps at the tip of them, and perform gravity defying feats. We've fallen through the Dance Moms YouTube rabbit hole & we can't get out.

This week, we had a little blast from Dance Moms past and had Josephine react to Lily K!

Josephine didn't know any of this of course. She had a lot of fun watching adorable 11 year old Lily portray expectations vs. reality of a first dance class. And while this fun skit included pointe shoes in a first ballet class, we all know that doesn't happen in real life.
