Dance has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. When I was promoted to pointe, I had the unfortunate luck of being fit by an inexperienced fitter and spent the first several years of my pointe career believing that pointe had to be painful. It is my goal to prevent that from happening to anyone else.
When I began teaching ballet over 10 years ago, I spent several years learning the best ways to strengthen the muscles in the feet, ankles, and legs in order to prevent injury and unnecessary pain.
I am here to keep you safe, happy, and looking beautiful in your pointe shoes!

I joined the team in March of 2026 and currently help with inventory and fulfillment, events, and pointe shoe fittings as a fitter in training.
I have been dancing since I could walk, growing up just outside of Madison, Wisconsin. I went on to attend Interlochen Arts Academy and trained at many renowned summer programs. I am now attending the University of California, Irvine, where I am pursuing a double BFA in Dance Performance and Dance Choreography.

My ballet journey has come full circle. From childhood training and meeting my husband in pas de deux, to raising two SF Ballet School students, my love of dance has spanned every side of the barre. With degrees in Design and Biology, I value the balance of form and function—helping dancers look beautiful en pointe while prioritizing alignment and foot health for longevity. Through my work with world-class artists at San Francisco Ballet and my own return to adult training, I see the “perfect fit” as an organic discovery shaped by each dancer’s technique, conditioning, artistry, and goals. Whether you need help sewing your first pair, scouting summer intensives, or finding local adult classes, come find me at the SF Showroom or SF Ballet Shoe Room. I’d love to help guide you on your dance journey!

I’m thrilled to be a part of The Pointe Shoe team, working as a sales associate and a pointe shoe fitter. My background in dance includes years of intensive training with the San Francisco Ballet School before transitioning into a successful career in musical theater on Broadway in NYC.
As a former ballet dancer, I understand the importance of finding a pointe shoes that provides the right balance of support, comfort, and performance. I feel incredibly fortunate to come full circle by helping dancers find their ideal fit and supporting them through their dance journey!

I have been dancing my whole life. I earned a BFA in dance from the Alonzo King LINES BFA Program. I am currently a member of the Oakland Ballet Company.
Having tried many different pointe shoe styles and fits myself, I understand both the challenges and the confidence that come with finally finding the perfect pair.
I’m passionate about helping dancers feel supported, comfortable, and confident so they can perform at their best.

I’ve been fitting with TPS for 10 years.
Through my own experience, I’ve dealt with the issues that can come from improperly fitted shoes. From blisters to full-on injuries, I know what it's like when you can't find the right shoe. In addition to being a professional pointe shoe fitter, I am certified in the Feldenkrais Method — an education and injury prevention training program. I started pointe work as an adult, after a long break from my childhood training. I've recovered from various injuries and am here to share what I've learned along the way about conditioning, proper mechanics, and perseverance.

I’m the Marketing Coordinator for ThePointeShop, where I get to share my love of ballet through social media and help bring the beauty of the art form to a wider audience.
Ballet has always been part of my life. I grew up dancing in Fullerton for 13 years, and although I took quite some time away from the studio, my love for ballet never left. Years later, I took the leap back and now perform locally.
As an adult, I also began pointe work and have had the opportunity to perform in The Nutcracker and other productions throughout the year.
Katie Choi
I’m the Marketing Assistant at The Pointe Shop, and outside of my work here, I dance professionally with Oakland Ballet.
My favorite part of being a Marketing Assistant is getting to turn my creative passion for content creation into a profession while staying connected to the dance community I love.
