This week, Josephine takes a look another dive into the ballet internet: Instagram Reels edition. We've been loving the Tik Toks everyone's been tagging us in, but we also couldn't ignore reels! In our very first Tik Tok reaction video, Josephine reacted to Dr. Mike reacting to some intense knuckle stands (and jumps yikes). There were a few comments that mentioned a cultural dance associated with this - and Instagram algorithm has delivered.  How did Josephine react? This week, Josephine was in Florida at YAGP Finals, and fit a dancer from Japan named Asuka Hara. This adorable and beautiful dancer is 11 years old. She is the 2022 recipient of YAGP's Hope Award, which is presented to the dancer for best overall performance in the Pre-Competitive category (9-11 years old). Asuka competed and performed on flat, in a variation from Graduation Ball. Although Asuka does have pointe shoes, she has not performed or competed en pointe yet. YAGP's guidelines do not allow 10 year olds to compete en pointe, and 11 year olds are strongly discouraged. In this week's video, Josephine witnesses Claudia & her friend Ailysh as they unbox and try of 4 PAIRS of Wish pointe shoes!   As a special bonus video, Josephine Lee and Kathryn Morgan judge ballet variations! Think Olympics commentary, but make it ballet. While participants of the Youth American Grand Prix rehearsed the variations they were going to compete, Kathryn offered great dancing insight, while Josephine commented on pointe shoes. They were blown away by the talent and poise in the studio - especially after 2 years of dancing online! It finally happened: Josephine Lee fits Kathryn Morgan for pointe shoes. After 22 years, Kathryn Morgan has finally found a pointe shoe that fits her! Between multiple sprains on her right ankle, hyperextended knees, a disappearing heel, and trying tons of different types of pointe shoes  - Kathryn has finally found the perfect fit.
