Josephine reacts to Nile Wilson in pointe shoes! More non-dancers, trying to learn ballet in an hour.... Are we surprised? Probably not.. Josephine tries random items as toe pads with dancer and TikToker, Bianca Scaglione! This week Josephine and Bianca tried using a bunch of random items as pointe shoe toe pads! They started off with tule, and lets just say, it DID NOT WORK. -1000/10 Next up they gave paper towels a go! This is actually not an uncommon practice among the ballet community, and although they were initially a little skeptical, Josephine and Bianca agreed that paper towels do work pretty well as toe pads! This week Josephine reacts to the, highly requested, video of The Rybka Twins trying acro tricks IN POINTE SHOES! First off, PLEASE DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME. These girls are very strong and incredibly well trained in both ballet and acrobatics :) The twins begin by trying some basic acro tricks and then they slowly increase the difficulty. Being hypermobile and double jointed are NOT the same thing! This week, Josephine fit Shea Hancock, a freshman dance major at USC Kaufman who is suuuper bendy! Shea mentioned that growing up, people thought she was just double jointed, but in reality, her hypermobility can be assessed & treated. While these hyperextended lines are often highly sought-after in the ballet world, it can be dangerous and shorten a dancer's career if not taken care of properly.
