Dancers from all around the world gather to compete is classical, contemporary and ensemble categories. Ballet is timeless. Unfortunately, the shoes involved have super short lifetimes. Does this need to change? In this week's reaction, Josephine looks at how shoes were made in the 1950's. And the amazing thing is, pointe shoes are still constructed similarly today. There has been some innovation of the pointe shoe over time - but compared to other industries, ballet can seem like it's stuck in the past. What do you think? Do pointe shoes need to change? Everyone knows that professionals da crazy things to their pointe shoes.  For how graceful ballerinas are, they can be quite violent when it comes to their pointe shoes!  Josephine reacts to Scout Forsythe -  a beautiful dancer in New York who is actually from Southern California. Fun Fact: Josephine's mom, Grace, used to fit Scout when she was little! Professional ballerinas can afford to customize and beat up their shoes because the company provides them. Everyone should do ballet. And that includes football players! This week, Josephine reacted to an awesome video from NFL films that covers how football players compete in dance to improve their football practice. In an annual fundraiser called Tutus and Touchdowns, high school football players in Ohio learn how to dance. In a sort of Dancing with the Stars and So You Think You Can Dance hybrid,  football players are paired with dancers from their local ballet to learn a routine. It's a cute one.
