Get to the Pointe — Pointe Shoe Fitter Reacts

We've fallen through the Dance Moms YouTube rabbit hole & we can't get out.

This week, we had a little blast from Dance Moms past and had Josephine react to Lily K!

Josephine didn't know any of this of course. She had a lot of fun watching adorable 11 year old Lily portray expectations vs. reality of a first dance class. And while this fun skit included pointe shoes in a first ballet class, we all know that doesn't happen in real life.

This week, we revisited a highly requested series - Dance Moms! The first time Josephine reacted to this hit TV series, loads of comments requested her reaction to Chloe and Maddie - so here we are. It's 2022 and we're trying to give the people what they want. This is for you. The internet has spoken. So be sure to watch!    

This week, we had Josephine react to Dance Memes - sorta like Tik Tok, but older LOL.  Fun fact: Josephine started making dance memes almost 10 years ago, when she first started ThePointeShop! Since then,@thepointeshop Instagram has always had a few ballet memes because we love to laugh. How long have you been on the ballet internet? Do you recognize any of these memes from pre-Instagram/Tumblr days?! Watch to find out!

This week, we had Josephine watch the 2010 Australian TV series, "Dance Academy."  If you're in the states, you likely found this series on YouTube, in the ballet corner of the internet where we live. Josephine watched snippets of Season 1, Episode 2 "Week Zero," which follows main character, country girl Tara during her first week at the prestigious academy. There's lots of drama of course, between a boy being bullied for being put en pointe, Tara disobeying her ballet teacher, and even, a pointe shoe fight! How will Josephine react? You gotta watch to find out!

This week we decided NOT to traumatize Josephine, and instead had her react to a sweet video of kids meeting a ballerina! This video ticked all the boxes in the "wholesome" category and we even see Josephine shed a few tears when one of the kids reminds her of her little brother! Although the ballerinas does mistakenly say that her pointe shoes are made out of wood (LOL), this is one of the first reactions where Josephine did not have to cringe and watch through her fingers the entire time.
