Josephine reviews the Stream Pointe from Nikolay!
The Stream Pointe is made on the Smart Pointe last, which means that it has a more broad shape through the metatarsals and slightly tapers down toward the platform.
Though this pointe shoe would still be considered a tapered shape, it is not as tapered as some of Nikolay's other models, such as the 3007 or Nova.
For a Nikolay pointe shoe, the Stream Pointe is considered to have a wide platform, however compared to other models across all brands, this pointe shoe has a medium sized platform.
The throat of the Stream Pointe is a U-cut with an elasticated binding, so there is no need for a drawstring on these pointe shoes!
The vamp on the Stream Pointe is considered medium in length, however like many Nikolay pointe shoes, the vamp get disproportionately longer as the size goes up, so smaller sizes of the Stream Pointe have a pretty short vamp and bigger sizes have quite a long vamp.
The fabric on this pointe shoe is quite minimal, so the sides are cut down pretty low and though the heel swoops up slightly, the heel is pretty low as well.
The Stream Pointe comes in four different shank strength: soft, medium, hard, and reinforced. The soft, medium, and hard are all quite soft in the shank and the reinforced would be considered a medium strength shank.
These pointe shoes come in sizes 1-9 and widths 1X-6X.
