Josephine reviews the Freed Studio!
The Freed Studio is made on a slightly tapered last.
These pointe shoes are made with the turn-shoe method, so they are made inside out, then turned around, creating pleats on the bottom of the shoe!
The shoe is then "banged out" to help make the pleats more flat on the bottom of the shoe.
The Freed Studio can come with both a V or a U-shaped throat, but it always comes with a cotton drawstring.
The profile of these pointe shoes is higher than that of the Studio Pro or Studio II, and looks like a barrel when looking at it from the front.
Both the waist seam and heel seam are cut medium to high, with quite a bit of fabric in the back quarter of the pointe shoe.
The Studio pointe shoe has a full shank, unlike any Freed models that end in the word "Pro", such as the Studio Pro or Classic Pro, which have a 3/4 shank.
The Freed Studio is available in both standard and hard shank.
This pointe shoe comes in sizes 2-8 and widths C-EE.
