GG Muir
San Diego, CA
Pointe Shoe Fitter

I'm so happy to be part of The Pointe Shop team representing San Diego.  Like many of you, I've had my fair share of issues that come along with improperly fitted shoes. From blisters to full-on injuries, I know what it's like to feel like you can't find the right shoe.
In addition to being a professional pointe shoe fitter, I am certified in an education/injury prevention training program, called the Feldenkrais Method.
I started pointe work as an adult, after a long break from my childhood ballet training. I am a passionate dancer who feels most at home in the studio. I've recovered from various injuries and am here to share what I've learned along the way about conditioning, proper mechanics, and perseverance.

Gg is available for appointments in San Diego at all times; e-mail her to schedule a fitting today!

Pointe Shoe Fitter & Manager

Like many of you, I have been dancing my whole life. When I was promoted to pointe, I had the unfortunate luck of being fit by an inexperienced fitter and I spent the first several years of my pointe career believing that pointe had to be painful. It is my goal to prevent that from happening to anyone else. When I began teaching ballet 10 years ago, I spent several years learning the best ways to strengthen the muscles in the feet, ankles, and legs in order to prevent injury and unnecessary pain. I am here to keep you safe, happy, and looking beautiful in your pointe shoes!

If you have stock or order inquiries, questions about ThePointeShop, email Melissa.

I'm here for you, and ThePointeShop.

Whether it's a pointe shoe consultation or a new dance trend - I'm your gal. I produce videos for our YouTube channel, manage our Instagram, and do whatever I can to push the ballet culture forward through these social platforms. With my  dance & journalism background, I know there's a beautifully diverse world of dance, and my goal is to educate, and make the culture accessible to everyone. If you have a suggestion for a video, a favorite ballet meme, or want to collaborate, my email and DM's are always open!

ThePointeShop is the first company solely dedicated to professional pointe shoe fitting. It was established in 2014 and currently operates out of 3 locations: Orange County, Oakland and San Diego. Their professional fitters travel to ballet schools and companies all over the country to offer their services. ThePointeShop is also the first to standardize a pointe shoe fitting curriculum and certification that covers across every major brand.
