Get to the Pointe — competition dance

Josephine, meet Jo Jo Siwa! Although their names are so similar, Josephine has only caught a glimpse of the fabulous Jo Jo Siwa in past Dance Moms reaction videos.  So this week, we decided to let them meet - digitally of course. Josephine watches Jo Jo take a dance class for the first time in several years. Similarly, Josephine has not taken a dance class in about 20 years either! She totally relates to the pre-class anxiety and drive towards perfectionism. How would you feel taking dance class for the first time in a while? 

This week, we're finally fulfilling a fan-favorite - the animated ballet movie, Leap!  In this video, Josephine watched and reacted to the final dance battle scene of this fun and heart touching kids' movie. Ballet doesn't tend to have 'dance battles' like other dance styles do, but if they do, we sure hope they are as thrilling as this movie! Have you watched Leap? Do you like it? We've fallen through the Dance Moms YouTube rabbit hole & we can't get out.

This week, we had a little blast from Dance Moms past and had Josephine react to Lily K!

Josephine didn't know any of this of course. She had a lot of fun watching adorable 11 year old Lily portray expectations vs. reality of a first dance class. And while this fun skit included pointe shoes in a first ballet class, we all know that doesn't happen in real life.
