2023 Model Search Application Fee

ThePointeShop and Dancer's Choice Model Search 2023

Application Deadline: Thursday, February 2nd, 2023 at 11:59pm PST

Application fee must be paid before Thursday, February 2nd at 4:00pm PST

- Applicant must be en pointe and between ages 11-18 as of Saturday, March 25th, 2023.

- Applicant must be located in the United States to apply.

ThePointeShop and Dancer's Choice Model Search is an annual event.

One dancer will be selected as ThePointeShop Model for 2023.

The winner is selected based on dancing ability, creativity, and poise, and will represent ThePointeShop & Dancer's Choice in promotional materials, websites, social media, print, and email blasts from May 2023-April 2024. An anonymous panel of dance industry professionals will be judging this competition.

ROUND 1: Application

1. Pay application fee - $50

2. Fill out application - you will receive application once fee is received.

3. Submit 2 photos: headshot and dance photo (does not need to be professional)

4. Submit Dance Video (30-60 seconds)

5. Demonstrate social media literacy: post a reel involving pointe shoes on Instagram & tag @thepointeshop

Due: Monday, January 30th, 2023

All applicants are invited to participate in a virtual master class with JOSIE WALSH, Founder, Artistic Director and Choreographer of BalletRED Contemporary Ballet Company and the JoffreyRED apprentice program in Los Angeles. She is the Artistic Director of the Joffrey Ballet School summer intensives in Los Angeles, San
Francisco and year round Ballet Director at the Industry Dance Academy.

This class is included with the application fee.

9-10:30am PST / 12-1:30pm EST

Zoom link will be distributed via email once application fee & application are received.

*Finalists will be announced on Monday, February 6th, 2023.*

If you are selected as a Finalist, you will be one of ThePointeShop Ambassadors for 2023 and will be in the running to be ThePointeShop Model.

*All Ambassadors will be required to travel to Southern California for the in-person live event on Saturday, March 25th, 2023 for the final selection. Participation fee for the Final Round is $250 If you do not attend the event, you will forfeit your ambassador title*

ThePointeShop Ambassadors will receive:

10% discount at ThePointeShop for the year as a PointeShop Ambassador
$250 goody bag, including matching leotard and skirt set from Charms Dancewear
$75 Professional photoshoot (headshot and dance photo)
Features on ThePointeShop website, e-mails and socials throughout the year
Exclusive merchandise from ThePointeShop

ROUND 2: Final Round (Ambassador Day)

- Ballet Barre with Josephine Lee

- Center & Across the Floor with Melissa Mayer

- Individual Evaluations : Center, Across the Floor Combinations from Class & Improv)

- Photoshoot featuring dance wear and merchandise

- Video filming for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts

*Ambassadors will be judged based on Dance Technique, Stage Presence, Musicality, & Creativity*

Required Attendance: Saturday, March 25th, 2023

2023 ThePointeShop Model will be announced on Instagram on Monday, March 27th, 2023.

Model Search 2023 Winner will receive:

25% discount at ThePointeShop for the year as ThePointeShop Model
$1,000 in prizes including pointe shoes and goodies from each brand
$1,800 Photoshoot with world renowned photographer Ballet Zaida
Feature on ThePointeShop website, e-mails, and socials throughout the year
Exclusive merchandise from ThePointeShop
