My name is Natalie and I am the Central fitter for The Pointe Shop.firstname.lastname@example.org
I grew up in Orange County and spent most of my life in classical ballet. I trained at Southland Ballet Academy and attended summer programs at Hubbard Street, Kirov Academy in DC, and ABT Orange County. I’ve taught at the University of Panama and Azusa Pacific University and I currently dance with Oklahoma City Ballet! I absolutely love working with dancers and sharing my passion for the art form both on stage and behind the scenes.
I completed my BFA in dance with an emphasis in performance and choreography at the University of California, Irvine where I was fortunate to study under dance masters that included Donald McKayle, Jodie Gates, Diane Diefenderfer, Molly Lynch and Tong Wang. (I also completed a minor in Spanish and graduated from the Campuswide Honors Program at UCI, so feel free to ask me anything about college/dance major life!) I competed in Youth America Grand Prix while I was growing up and have traveled to Italy and Panama to teach and perform. Some of my favorite moments in dance have been working with young kids at outreach performances and orphanages in the states and abroad. It’s awesome to see how much dance can bring people together and fill them with joy!
When it comes to pointe shoes, I have worn just about every shoe on the shelf. From cutting and jet gluing to completely altering the sides with seams and darts, I’ve experimented with my shoes in almost every way possible in search of the perfect fit. I’ve now been in a happy relationship with my pointe shoes for more than 5 years (after 7 years of trial and error) and I love the magic of pointe shoe fitting and the quest for the perfect pair! I’m thrilled to be a part of The Pointe Shop team and can’t wait to help you find your shoe!
